What they say about us

Haematology

Haematology involves the diagnosis and treatment of patients with disorders of the blood and bone marrow, sometimes involving other organs such as the lymphatic system. (RCPath.org)

Haematology is an intensive, exciting, rewarding and demanding speciality that encompasses both clinical and laboratory practice.

This dual role provides a unique opportunity to combine clinical skills with appropriate and often cutting-edge science to make a diagnosis, choose the optimal treatment plan and monitor progress.

Clinical care is delivered in both in-patient and out-patient environments, and the haematologist frequently contributes to diagnosis and management with other medical experts the within an intensive care setting.

This holistic approach to clinical care is a highlight of the speciality. (JRCPTB.org.uk)  Jersey Haematology has associations and contacts in reference centres in the UK and elsewhere.
